Lyrics
THE MYTH
Gravel burns my feet as I hit the street
to get away from who I am.
It was that day the sun stood still.
I lost the will and my girl.
The world it seemed it filled with steam
and glowed like iron in the soul...
Truth -
tried and trying to unwind,
to decide where to go,
where to believe,
all these things, all these things -
closure and
failure and
faith and fleet
and compromise
misdirection, resolution
and the myth...
recollection of all things lost
of reaching to the corner of desperation
of finding somebody to love
moody in the nectar of every day life
a corpse revived by memory
a struggle to receive and conceive
self-worth versus universal love
from above the frame
the intellectual destruction of everywhere
the conceited diatribe of a moment beyond a mimic's cry
and desolation
piano keys prick on the surface of a cartoon profile
poking into the mind's absence
the soul is a moment of substantive sadness
cushion in a boot crooked bricks
tickled by years of neglect
constant sorrow followed by annoyance
dead horn sections
drum beats are supposed to make you move
not sit there at the bar
to drink
and write
and cry
and fight to cry...
