I can hardly share, even care about the blame.
I feel ashamed for falling deep, for falling hard.
Before these summer stars filled the night near and far,
we would roam hand in hand, day by day.
But, the sun feels so stark in the shadows of my heart
as my eyes catch the darkness as you vanish from view.

What is left to do?
I always think of you
on the beaches of Cape May
and the necklace I bought that day.

with the fragrance of alone...

For now I have to leave
