Lyrics
As I emerge and place the first track
Soaking skin welcomes the sun’s greeting.
“A Haven Yea. Yet it must fall, ere - we be saved”
Witnessing lifetimes passing; ephemeral.
Born but now to die.
Tendrils climb,
Dead leaves fall instantly.
Now.
Raising my head
To find again:
It’s all too much.
I can’t keep up.
In pressing on, life’s hairspring magnetized;
Chronophobic.
Does making the heart beat faster
Bring one closer to death?
Reliving tales as told by the mayfly
Weighing the merits of trains passing by -
A traveler fulfilled will soonest arrive
In contrast, unmoving, the sepulcher unrealized.
Faster steps beget the imminent
Consequent echoing.
Am I God if my movement
Should command the heavens
Be swift in their motion?
Stillness begets silence, unfulfilled.
Two irreconcilable focuses we bore.
Hands push onward evermore.
“What plain machines.
Do they trouble you?
How ridiculous.
There are constants.
For sacrifice - for salvation
I become the cost that
you must endure.”
I lose myself and accelerate
Through a process I did not create.
Time elapsed will collapse
The existence of a better fate.
Raising my head
To find again:
It’s all too much.
I can’t keep up.
In pressing on, life’s hairspring magnetized;
Chronophobic.
Does making the heart beat faster
Bring one closer to it?
