BEHIND THE SONG
This song was written a lot out of redemption I experienced this past year but is primarily about the confidence and boldness God puts in us through His spirit. I think the two go hand in hand sometimes; there is confidence in the fact that we are redeemed. I finished reading Wild at Heart last summer and felt fresh perspective on how fear and hesitance have no grip on me in the shadow of the bold heart that Christ has placed within me. In August 2017, we had a worship/prayer night and in a spontaneous worship moment the chorus just came out of me; the rest of the song was written over the course of the year.

Musically, this song is special because I made the decision to only use a piano. The majority of this song was written while sitting at a piano, but I didn’t know how to play the piano until this year. Even though I’ve been a musician for a long time, working with a piano brought an element of newness and adventure to the process.

While it is scary to write and record music, I know I have a God that knows my heart and is watching over me through every adventure! He is wild!
