Boydex's journey into the darkness and more downtempo side of his music comes because of a personal relational setback in his life. When relationships or marriages dissolve, its something no one is too keen to write about. But in this case, the music somehow almost had a way of seeming to write itself, and because of that, we get to hear the sorrow, the pain, these deepest connections that are yearning and twisting and grinding for hope. Something we can all seemingly relate to.
