Damb! This album released on 5-31-24 at precisely 5:31:24 pm on a Friday marks the end of a month and the conclusion of a year. The first four songs take their lyrics from chat group text threads when Vic Whitney begins his story telling. I saw them texts on my telephone and I heard sounds at the same time. I was like Damb! Then I recorded that sound and helped myself to Vic's lyricism. He didn't even know it! Then I posted that song on the chat group, my response as if to say, I hear you but I also hear music.
This sort of phenomenon happens again on the last track, SOX game with dad. Brian Marth, aka Brain Math tells me during an elementary school open house that he's writing a song about an incident between a sox fan and a coach for Kansas City. I read his words and I was like Damb! I recorded it all and sent what I could do on my own to Brad Swiniarski and he put on the drum tracks which put all the elements into place.
Song 5-8 are all killer. What else is there to say?
mayday is not a rap record, but it still couldn't be possible without my crew.
