Retreat by Frankson

This is the title track and second single, from the first release by Frankson, aka Ross Wakefield. It features on the first EP on his new label ‘LxL, DxD’. An expansive instrumental, that draws on his love of minimal film/drama scores and contemporary electronica.

The track includes sounds and textures recorded from his hospital bed, following a major accident in 2017. “There has been a lot of reflection, in the months and years since my injury and none more so than my weeks spent in hospital. To fill the time, I captured sounds on my phone, which I
later sampled and turned into percussive hits or textural layers to use in the studio. This track contains a lot of that and musically, feels like a perfect representation of the path I’ve been onover the last five years.” (RW).
