Formed in Iceland 2002 as the solo project of Einar Thorberg, AKA Eldur.
3 albums later, known as the Völuspá trilogy, Fortíð relocated in Norway as a full lineup band.
After 8 years, 2 more albums and some live shows in Europe, Fortíð returned to Iceland.
Kári Pálsson joined the band on bass in 2021. Ingi Þórisson (guitar) and Unnar Bjarnason (drums) filled the remaining slots in 2024.
