devil's lettuce from deer ticks by foraging and the rattling bones

I grow parsley and coriander rosemary and thyme
basil and lavender mint of every kind
the best head of garlic is fresh out of the ground
but that good ol’ devil’s lettuce is the strongest herb I found

there’s oregano and chamomile don’t confuse the leaves
fennel and dill look similar indeed
but there’s just one herb that every supper calls
it’s that good ol’ devil’s lettuce, the sweetest of them all

I got peppers like autumn leaves yellow green and red
some sweet as cherries some’ll blow your head
if you want excitement no better way to go
then that good ol’ devil’s lettuce, the spiciest I know

oh but one day I had a smoke and went outside to work
felt all around me the demons there to lurk
I looked through the forest, no garden did I find
there was just one single veggie, that veggie was my mind!
