Sleep
You craved sleep
It waited for you patiently, capably escaping dreams
Spider webs went overseas, now you’ve caught it with one sweep
Like a fish it wriggles and twists, til you persist: “We can coexist”
Sleep wants to go home, just like you. For home is long overdue
Home is a misused word. It confuses both of you
But now a light burns in the nerves of your home
Lighting the window, it yearns to not be alone
Will it go out?
