Scáthanna by Fíona Nic Conmara and Tim Doyle

‘Scáthanna’, the debut duet album from Fíona Nic Conmara & Tim Doyle, is an album of traditional Irish music on fiddle and concertina, with tracks featuring the uilleann pipes and tin whistle, and accompaniment from Joey Doyle (Guitar), Gráinne Fitzgibbon (Harp), and Kevin Meehan (Bodhrán).

There is a story with light humour attached to the name of the album. Initially coming up short with an album name they found relevant to them, the duo reverted back to their childhood memories.
“From a very young age we found our paths crossing in every direction – there was a long running joke between our group of friends that we were each other’s shadows growing up. We decided to put that joke to good use, with the end result being ‘Scáthanna’”.
