Inhale/Streams by Kalm & Spindall

Extents V.I.P are very proud to present two London producers ‘Kalm & Spindall both of which DJ at the mighty Rudefm.com! Being on the scene for a long time now as DJ’s, then progressing into the production side of things, both these guys put in the graft and represent Drum & Bass to the fullest playing and airing their own music and supporting others on their weekly show and both are highly respected for their talent that they bring to the table.

Kalm, in 1998 set the standard for new fresh talent in Drum n Bass with his first official release and remix for Good Looking Recordings artist’s Flying Fish, Kalm developed a personal sound and a style of his own. He had gained residencies at top London clubs and parties such as Home, The Blue Note, Movement and The Clinic and also founded his label Central Intelligence all by the age of 21. Kalm has DJ’d everywhere from Switzerland to Paris, Portugal to Iceland and Miami to Los Angeles where he shared the decks with Goldie at the infamous Viper Room on Sunset Boulevard.
The world famous Homelands festival in England had DJ Kalm as its guest two years ago along with LTJ Bukem, Fabio, Krust, Marky and Patife from Brazil. He made his debut at the Winter Music Conference 2001 in Miami at the Beat Camp party with Marcus Intalex, Calibre, Decoder and DMC world champion Craze. Kalm has not only made his mark DJ'ing but also in the studio as well, with his remix of Roni Size Reprezent’s Dirty Beats and the highly acclaimed Venus on Hospital Records Plastic Surgery Vol 2 compilation (and ‘Mirage’ on PS4), just to mention a few.
DJ Kalm has established himself as one of the most innovative and well rounded young producers today. He can develop a variety of vibes with his tunes while keeping his signature vibe.
Kalms latest works in production have found himself along with some like minded artists, now formed into a group called the Kollectiv which is Kalm, Carrera & Keza, taking everything to a whole new level of quality in production which we are all sure you will know about soon enough…, with every track created in the studio from these guys being totally mind blowing and very refreshing to the listeners, party goers and DJ’s…also Kollectiv have a very powerful release coming in August (Carbon EP) on Scientia Music which we suggest you don’t hold out to get once it’s been released.
We at Extent also look forward to working on some more releases from all these guys in the near future, so be sure to watch out for that!

D.J Spindall is a London based DJ specialising in the deeper side of Drum & Bass and started out at the tender age of 13, back in 1995 mixing Jungle and DnB.
He got his first play out at the young age of 15 in 1997 at Cambridge’s Junction for a night called ”Rubber soul”, which was run by Pete who runs the legendary Warning event at the same venue. He switched to Garage music in 1998 after constant requests to play at parties and the opportunity to secure a residency at a successful U18 event called ”Pulse” (later Rhythm Nation). This led to a show on Mac fm (voted best U.K garage station at the garage awards in 1999 & 2000) amongst others and performances at massive events such as Exposure & Underground explosion at the Coliseum in Vauxhall.
After a 4 yr break from DJing, Spindall returned to Drum and Bass in 2005 and secured radio shows on Icecold fm & Lifefm.co.uk before later moving to current station RudeFM.com in Nov’ 2006. Since his return to Dj'ing, Spindall has played for promoters such as Moondance, History of Dance, Son of Dance, Knowledge magazines ”Bar knowledge”, Essence of Chi and many others.
2008 saw Spindall start up his own night (Nurtured Beatz) as well as co producing his first tracks with up n coming producer Diamond Eye. Now he works with Kalm and has much more in the pipeline! Keep an Eye and Ear out for Spindall as he gets deeper into the production side of things bringing the knowledge of the deeper style of DnB and incorporating these into tracks.
