Home from Echoes by Evoking Winds

Once upon a time most lonely, while I wandered, lost and only,
Through the hollow, echoing chambers of a life devoid of more -
While I drifted, music humming, in my heart a distant drumming,
Yearning for a place becoming, becoming what I'd searched before -
"'Tis a home," I whispered softly, "that my weary soul yearns for
- Just a home and nothing more."

These I found within the darkness, each one bearing their own starkness,
Yet together forming something we had never known before;
No more lonely, no more hiding, with these souls now coinciding,
In our union now residing - residing what I'd searched for -
Finding home among these fellows I had desperately searched for;
- Lonely nevermore.

Twenty winters have we wandered since that lonely night I'd pondered
But this time our souls were yearning for the truths that lay before; "
Now our home we've truly founded, by our children's laughter sounded,
Simple life has us surrounded - guiding to this peaceful shore -
Settled down at last and resting on this gentle, peaceful shore;
- Searching nevermore.

So this tale we close in blessing, all our gratitude expressing
To the hearts that made our journey something worth the living for;
In the music we're united, by the common dreams ignited,
Why we did this, why we'll always be - be grateful evermore -
You, dear listeners, you taught us - what our music's for;
