Lobby is an unsung hero of the contemporary UK funky/drum circuit. As part of the Sprung collective in Bristol, he helps organise the city’s much-loved UK funky day party, which reached its five-year anniversary on the 13th of July this year. The rooftop party has championed influential yet still somewhat underground artists alongside figureheads whose names are synonymous with the sound.
Lobby brings the same breadth of appreciation for UK funky, percussion and the ethos of the underground to his music - which mostly circulates between friends and fellow DJs, occasionally springing out on a UK funky compilation on Roska Kicks and Snares or a hard drum collection by Super Kitchen.
3D Thinking, with its broken drums, patterns swinging off-grid, and glitched-out chord stabs, is focused entirely on creating a solid, mind-expanding groove. It’s an understated, hypnotic work-out, driven by a deep sub, striking the perfect balance between syncopated techno and new UK funky-inspired sounds.
