Lit by Anna Murray
Ergodos is proud to announce the release of "Lit", a two-track digital EP by Irish artist Anna Murray. Here, each musical gesture is natural and entirely itself, focussing attention on the present moment. Actions accumulate, and a rich and generous atmosphere of contemplation and poise is created.
Vocalist Michelle O’Rourke and flautist Lina Andonovska pace this music expertly, balancing a sense of deliberation in each moment with a larger feeling of spaciousness, of eternal time.
Anna Murray describes both tracks as “open form works that explore ritual and communication, inspired by poetry and light.” But more than that, she says, “they represent the coming together of the very special musical voices of collaborators Michelle O’Rourke and Lina Andonovska, who have shaped these works across time.”
She continues: “These recorded versions are a moment in the life of these works; in the ongoing ritual of performance and communication they represent. The two works on this album are indelibly connected and I am delighted that they are appearing together on this album with Ergodos.”
