She bloomed in fragments,
  like a thought unfinished.
Laughter wrapped in petals,
  timed with my silence.


She spoke in softness,
  I measured reply.
She bent toward light,
  I stayed aligned.


Hibiscus in motion,
  me, the sum withheld.
She reached in color,
  I returned in integers.
We were nearly,
  but never quite.


She traced the outline,
  I named the edge.
She asked a question
  I solved instead.


If she was bloom,
  I was border.
She danced in variables,
  I lived in order.


Hibiscus fading,
Integer remains.
She was the answer,
I questioned away.
