Sound Picture by Elliot Bild & The Zone
Elliot Bild & The Zone's second album, and first studio recording, "Sound Picture" features all original compositions inspired by my lessons with Mr. Tim Hagans, the pandemic, and life experiences. Together, through our collective sound, risk taking, and in the moment improvisation, we found our story.
In the liner notes Tim Hagans states, "One can hear immediately that this is a symbiotic group of musicians; a real working band. Check out how drummer Gusten Rudolph colors and powers every moment and enjoy lan Kenselaar's hippest bass lines possible. Together they create the perfect wave for musical surfing. Marvel at the introspection of Morgan Walbridge's Vibraphone Interlude and her intriguing and swinging lines on OG 3. Be amazed by saxophonist Josh Lee's joyous melodies and luscious sound on both the baritone and soprano saxophones. And dig big time the interesting sonic worlds to which guitarist Benjamin Karp invites us while making every track an exciting adventure."
Hagans goes on to say, "Elliot has a gorgeous trumpet sound: dark, huge and full of emotion. It is this powerful sound and driving rhythmic sense that sing his every note; and those notes surprise and thrill. One hears the history of his predecessors while also hearing history being made. He has written all of the compositions on this recording and his unique improvisational voice is present in his written melodies, displaying elaborate story-telling as both musician and composer."

Originally from Chicago, trumpeter, educator and composer Elliot Bild has performed with the great bassist, Mike Boone at Smalls Jazz Club in NYC as well as the 2019 Philadelphia Center City Jazz Festival.
Bild has also performed with Orrin Evans and the Captain Black Big Band, Don Braden, and Pablo Batista. Elliot appears on recent releases by Richard Hill, Lucas Brown and Nicholas Krolak.
