Human kind is a prisoner of war.
The last remaining nations are deadlocked in a power struggle while a potential nuclear armageddon looms in World War Forever. Civilization is broken. Day-to-day living is a nightmare. Cities are seized and relinquished in an endless deck shuffle upon the shifting borders of conflict.
With shifting national boundaries on the distant horizon, a poet barricades alone in an abandoned building. Utilizing a pencil and notebook, this unyielding artist attempts to capture the feelings of the time.
The poet's mission is to fulfill an uncertain hope. By scrawling a book of handwritten poems to gift an unknown future generation of people, the fate of human survival might be willed into existence. Someone has to see it, they must.
May this serve as a record of perseverance and wisdom to never repeat follies of its era.
It is a beautiful dream in a bleak landscape.
