Orestes' Torment by Echo (ΗΧΩ) Ensemble

Orestes Torment is the debut EP by Echo (ΗΧΩ) Ensemble, a collaboration between Callum Armstrong (aulos) and Rosa Fragorapti (lyre).
Rooted in the world of ancient Greece and shaped by creative research, this four-track release offers a journey through soundscapes of classical antiquity. Each piece weaves together historical insight and expressive performance.

We began collaborating in 2024, driven by a shared curiosity to explore the possibilities of the lyre and aulos together in ensemble. We soon discovered a rich and beautiful blend of timbres, and found that both instruments are dynamic and agile. Capable of taking on solo, accompaniment, and contrapuntal roles.
Orestes Torment is our first step into this world. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
