Project: “Mountain Birth”
An Audio piece created for "Boundaries Exhibition" based on the geological phenomenon of orogenesis (or orogeny), which refers to forces and events leading to mountain forming. Orogeny occurs mainly at convergent boundaries of tectonical plates, where forceful events of million years of pressure, movement and metamorhosis lead to a large structural deformation of the earth’s surface given cosmogenic results from the earth’s inner crust to the sky.
Distraction attached to birth, evolution through impact.
The composition narrates the convergence, and the structure of the track is based on the use of elements of the audio mix and orchestration such as tonality, stereo image and output signal level in order to represent the environment and the movement in every dimension, where the event is described in a way of a movie scene and its score.
Dimitris Patsaros is an Athens-based producer & sound designer. He rambles across the city fusing elements of dancehall, dub, kraut, kosmiche, grime, techno & bass morphing them into a style that feels uniquely his own.
