Phantom Pain by M.I.C. Murphy
A collection of music meant to accompany my journey, and an ode to those who suffer in silence. Last year I injured my left thumb while operating a press brake. This aggravated a previous injury which occurred during training in the beginning years of my work over 10 years ago, and it took me a while to feel strength in my left hand. In recovery, there were many songs created that remain on the cutting room floor. These are some of the songs that kept me up at night, the songs that still remain unfinished to this day. While writing lyrics is a way for me to deal with my demons, this project is representative of the pain in my left thumb, the migraines, the anxiety, and the splinter in my mind.
