New Winyo! by Doris Opiyo
This track is sung in Luo, a Northern Ugandan language of the Acholi tribe. It is based on Matthew 6:26 which says,
"Look at the birds of the air, they do not sow or reap or store away in barns and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they?"
The song came about when I was going through a lot of difficulties and lack. As I was reading the Scriptures one day, I came across the above verse and as I started meditating upon it, I got so excited that God cares about me and that I am much more valuable than the birds of the air, animals, trees, plants, etc. If He can take good care of all His creatures, then how about me and you?
