Voyager from Dawn Calling by Don Glori
‘Voyager’ - Fingerpicked bass weaving around an Afro-Cuban ‘Son’ clave pattern. Kit, shaker, cowbell, congas and more all oscillating between two different time signatures while being grounded by the claps throughout. The result is a driving, percussive journey which balances all these different elements perfectly. A beautiful sax and piano duet halfway through which gives rise to the more electronic elements of EP, peaking with an impressive drum solo.
