BiscuitFister tells this story way better than I can. But the long story short is that he has a wonderful cat named Dunkin. Because Biscuit found Dunkin in the back of a Dunkin Donuts and decided to adopt this black and white little angel, he earned the name Dunkin. I was so compelled every time he told this story over on his Twitch that I felt inspired to write a 9 minute opus dedicated to Dunkin. Which funny enough, this entire project started out as just a Serum preset name dedicated to Dunkin, but then I began writing this demo for the preset patch which is actually the intro to Dunkin's Lullaby, titled exactly the same.
Well, the next day I kept adding more and more to it until it became something of a Progressive House track. There's a ton of inspiration from artists I study lately, most being Deadmau5 and in this instance Eric Prydz with Opus being the catalyst for the idea.
And yes the near 2 minute intro is absolutely important. Imagine if you were Dunkin just wandering around that Dunkin Donuts, kinda lost and scared and unsure of your surroundings. And here comes this big lug of a dude reaching out to you. You hesitate, but then you take a chance and now you're adopted and spoiled and on some occasions shown to Biscuit's Twitch chat, and chat loves you btw!
This is my officially longest track to date.
I dedicate this beautiful opus to BiscuitFister's cat, Dunkin. Also cat cam redeem when?
