Moodtide by Distant Hands

Nothing like putting things off to the last minute… February’s A-side, Moontide, is a new composition of brooding, folky psychedelia based heavily on the 1942 noir crime thriller of the same name, starring Jean Gabin and Ida Lupino. Following in a similar vein, the “flip” side, Heartaches, is a reworking of a song written and recorded for the now defunct Collinwood outfit, from their April 2023 release, Six Steps Past Midnight, under the title Shadows Can Deceive. Distant Hands is a solo outing by William Gladstone, blending genres with a lo-fi aesthetic.

William Gladstone is also a member of the groups Collinwood (as "Evil" Wil Gladstone) and Seaview Terrace (as Standish Holden), among others.
