I have often thought that in the hereafter of our lives, when I owe nothing more to the future, that we may meet.

I am wasting away to know the emptiness until it has been filled.
To join in sorrows under the dim lit stars and be encased in future memory.

Perhaps we ache for what we've never known.
Perhaps we lust for what we can not have.
The burden is mine to solemnly obey.
To feel love from a single glance, as it would burn me to cinders.

I swore allegiance to the darkness in your veins while the future has taken root in the present.
Your eyes never leave me, our bond never saves me.

I awake to the meadows, cold, and barren.
Estranged to the nostalgia, dwelling in retention.
