Reckless Things by Niechęć

Niechęć is still watching closely. Whilst their previous album focused on observing the human psyche, this one watches the world as it’s heading faster and faster towards a catastrophe. At daytime alarming news headlines pop up on every screen. But in the evening we go out and simply have a good time. We’re trying to make the best out of this situation by numbly dancing at the edge. These are the new roaring 20s. “Reckless Things” is therefore a study of madness as normality, and normality as madness. But this study also contains a glimpse of hope, as it shows that people have the tendency to look for beauty and normalize their lives even in the most difficult circumstances. And that’s what the new album’s all about. Focused on rhythm and inspired by techno, IDM and UK bass sounds.

The sound of Niechęć constantly evolves with the band's lineup. It balances between fury and melancholy, recently leaning towards trance beats and synths, whilst still maintaining its improvisational and cinematic vibe. They played over 350 shows, including many Polish and European festivals (Open'er, Tauron Nowa Muzyka, Colours of Ostrava, Copenhagen Jazz Festival). All of their studio records were critically acclaimed, with each one being in the yearly top 10 of most popular jazz albums on Rate Your Music.
