motionless
hours pass
cannot write

endlessly i strive
for inspiration
i'm running short of time
but i'm still back to square one

like the words of a million empty books
tell me not to be sure i'm purposeful
though i cannot withdraw i must pursue

when the voice that pushes me forwards
suddenly silences
it's so hurtful to realize
i have no reason to stay

dance with me
i'll dance with you
and maybe throw you to the fire
but nothing as much
as i do
will ever take you higher
than the path we're bound to
