Psychoploration by deeplab

Ambient was our first love. Even before we founded “Audio Lotion”, and ever since, we have been exploring the deep sound spaces beyond the commercial routes of popular music.

“Psychoploration”, as well as its sister album “Endomersion” and the two singles “Signatures of Life” and “Phases of Gravity” (see discography on right side of page), represent our finest ambient works collected over twenty years. These tracks are beautiful and soothing, sometimes estranged, sometimes dark and disturbing, but never superficial.

The musical range encompasses the floating layers of pads and sweeps of “Tricyclic”, the rhythmical tribality of “Pelagic”, the classical piano of Schumann layered over a short-wave radio weather forecast in “Sommerreise”, the psychospace of an imaginary New Delhi filled with tablas and market sounds in “Delhirion”, and the rainy warmth underlying the piercing austerity of a Japanese Kabuki singer in “Chaak”.
