**DÉ DÉ MOUSE Returns with His First Solo EP in Five Years: “Just Brokenhearted”**
Kicking off with the euphoric lead single “Fallin’ in,” this long-awaited new EP tells a story set seven years after the events of *be yourself*, portraying a fresh and emotional Y2K-inspired French house world centered around the theme of heartbreak.
In a heartfelt homage to classic French house—often built on samples from existing disco tracks—DÉ DÉ MOUSE took a unique approach by crafting all disco and oldies-style phrases entirely from scratch. These original, catchy loops form the foundation of *Just Brokenhearted*, resulting in a truly distinctive and handcrafted sonic experience.
From the dazzling joy of “Fallin’ in,” to the bittersweet falsetto soul melodies and piano of “When We Love,” to the dreamy digital love of “Dream About You” that opens with a CHIC-inspired intro, and finally the nostalgic, sunset-tinged emotional outpouring of “I Want You”—each of the four tracks revives memories of love both sweet and painful, something everyone has surely felt.
Built on a unified BPM of 128, the EP explores a disco mix-like structure with a deep focus on emotional resonance, drive, and immersion. Catchy but understated, its looped vocal melodies—resembling soft backing vocals—create a hypnotic Future Disco / Future Funk / French House sound.
The beautiful artwork depicting the “seven years later” world of *be yourself* was created by 7ZEL, who also designed the covers for *be yourself* and *Nulife*.
