This collection represents a personal exploration of AI as a creative tool. While I’m fully aware that AI has become the Luddite Panic of our time, dominating conversations with equal measures of amazement and trepidation, I approach it differently. Technophobia aside, AI is here and it’s unlikely to vanish anytime soon. Rather than viewing it solely as a threat, I’ve chosen to engage with it as a collaborative partner—a tool with its own peculiar quirks and limitations that, when handled thoughtfully, can spark unexpected moments of inspiration.

The four “pop” pieces in this collection have deeply personal origins. They began as lyrics I wrote at various points in my life, some of them reaching back more than three decades. These were words waiting for a musical home, and AI provided the framework to bring them into new forms. On the other hand, the three “classical” pieces emerged from pure experimentation—carefully crafted prompts given to the model simply to see what might come back. These pieces were less about intention and more about discovery, opening doors to possibilities I hadn’t initially imagined.

It’s important to note that the AI’s output was just the mid-point for these works. Each piece has been radically transformed in post-AI production. Sections were removed or rearranged, and layers of live instrumentation were added by me, re-infusing a human element that AI alone could never replicate. This blending of human intention and AI generation forms the heart of this collection—a creative dialogue between myself and the technology, shaped by curiosity, care, and a desire to see where this sometimes unpredictable process could lead.
