Frans de Waard is somewhat a stalwart of underground and noise scenes. His work, spanning more releases than one could easily count in a plethora of different styles, and his dedication to championing other musicians on his label Korm Plastics and in his own publication Vital Weekly (as well as his more recent forays into writing books) have rightly endeared him to many. At Dead Hound Records, we were excited and honoured to have several of our releases covered by Frans back in 2020 โ we are now even more excited and honoured to be able to release some of his music ourselves.
Modelbau is a more recent pseudonym of his, under which he has already produced a substantial body of work. This project sees him focus on the noisier side of things, through manipulation of various electronics, to great atmospheric effect.
Escape Clause is a two-part release, with both โ23 | 06 | 30โ and โ28โ traversing a rather expansive set of electronic flickering, wavering distorted crescendos and metallic crunching. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Dead Hound Records is a (very) small DIY imprint run by Ollie Turbitt in Edinburgh, specializing in experimental digital releases, tapes, USBs and zines which expose the unsung sonic underbelly of Scotland and beyond.
