Beginning his musical journey at the age of 9, he grew up immersed in the sounds of Ireland’s distinct Sliabh Luachra region, shaping his distinctive style and exceptional skill.

A three-time All-Ireland Fleadh medalist, David Healy has earned widespread recognition for both his virtuosic performances and his dedication to teaching. He began teaching the accordion at the age of 18 in primary schools across Ireland, where he first shared his passion for Irish music with young students. Over the past 12 years, he has taught at numerous summer schools, Comhaltas branches, and workshops, working with students of all ages and abilities. His teaching experience spans from beginners to advanced students, focusing on both the technical and expressive aspects of music to help each student reach their full potential.

In 2021, David Healy relocated to Boston, MA, where he has quickly become a household name on the local music scene. He has performed at some of the most renowned venues in the city, including The Black Rose, The Dubliner, Emmet's, and the Irish Cultural Centre. His music also resonates at major events such as the BCM Festival, where he brings a distinct Irish sound to a broad audience. Through these performances, he has solidified his reputation as one of the region's most sought-after Irish musicians.

Back in Ireland, David Healy performed in iconic venues across the country, including Temple Bar, Dingle, Galway, and Cork. He has held long-term residencies in notable spots like Reidy’s in Killarney and The Droichead Beag & Sullivan’s Courthouse Pub in Dingle.

Internationally, David Healy has captivated audiences around the world, performing with renowned shows such as Siamsa Tíre, Celtic Steps, Rhythm of the Dance, and Celtic Legends, touring over 15 countries across Europe, North America, and Australia. His performances have brought Irish music to life for diverse global audiences, making him a sought-after artist on both local and international stages.
