Say Goodbye by David Alderman
All of the music for this album has been written in the last few years. It was originally going to be me on guitar and a few local musicians, and then amazing things started happening that I would never have imagined……. and the Universe smiled.
Victor Miranda had just come off the road with Al Di Meola's World Tour and was available to lay down the bass tracks. I have always heard Saxophone (in my mind) in several of my songs and boy oh boy did I ever get an amazing one in Craig Christman. Rick Cutlip and I had played together in a band in the 70's. His Stratocaster has graced the music of some of the biggest names in the music industry (Chuck Negron...etc). The first time I heard Stuart Shelton on keyboard I was totally blown away. The acoustic guitars were played by myself and my friend John Witt and Ann Graph added a lovely harmony counter point to my melodies. Then mix in Chris Blood, a Berklee College of Music trained drummer and exceptional recording engineer....you get my drift. I am still not sure how I got all these world-class jazz/rock musicians on my CD…..I am very grateful!
