The Performer by Dave Silver

What is there to say? Recorded this album in my bedroom when I was 17, using the bare minimum of equipment and understanding of audio production. It's not good by any means, but it's a part of my childhood and a small stepping stone in my life of music.

This is a conceptual album, telling the story of a young kid in a 1920's New Orleans-type era, who struggles to establish himself as an artist. As he sits alone playing his guitar beneath a cobble stone archway, he is overheard by an elite and crude business man, the man in the red suit. He strikes a deal with the kid and allows him to perform for him at a local venue he owns. The performer willingly accepts the man's offer, only to realize what a mistake he had made. This local venue was no ordinary venue, but rather a filthy disgusting slum filled with low life big wheels, cashing in their singles to broken and ashamed young girls who have no other way out.

But then he meets her...
