A burning issue for townsfolk in a Sunshine Coast Hinterland town.
It engenders a disproportionate number of letters to the editor in local press. And every few years councilors get asked to investigate the possibility of reopening the railway gates that have been closed to vehicular traffic for the last 40 years.

If there's one thing in this town that's got a lot of class

People around say it must go

Today, I nearly lost my eye on that
brutalist monstrosity of asphalt and ply
I saw the munter coming, shuffling his thongs
and a metre-wide umbrella steered by four bongs
Screen aganst projectiles walkway is high sided
as the spokes of his umbrella and my eyeline collided
Well if there's one thing in this town that simply oozes class
it's the Cooroy footbridge rail overpass
Half of the town wrong side of the tracks
open the boom gates - we'd probaby take them back
