The LOST CHERREES have been around a long, long time (too long some might argue!). Formed as school kids in Sutton, Surrey in 1979 the band’s first gig was in 1983 and first record released the same year. An alliance with powerhouse anarcho-punk outfit, CONFLICT saw a turning point for the band, with two singles and an album released over the following two years.
With extensive gigging and promotion, all three records achieved significant Indie chart success.
In 1986, the band went separate ways to pursue other projects, only to reform some 18 years later with all original members in 2004.
Conflict's Mortarhate label reissued the band's back catalogue on CD in 2004, including a 64 track special edition, and with the Cherrees back gigging regularly, an all-new studio album was released on Mortarhate in 2006.
In 2008 two of the original members once again departed to work on side-projects, and with singer Bev taking a much-needed hiatus, the Lost Cherrees ground to a halt. After bassist Steve had created the new Another Winter Of Discontent festivals in 2011, the Lost Cherrees were reformed with an all-new line-up which has since released numerous albums and singles on CD & vinyl, played countless gigs including first visits to Finland, France & Ireland.
After a tweak or two across the past 14 years, the current line-up is Liss, Tay, Ash, Pete, Matt & Steve, who continue to play live and write/record new music, the most recent release being the RAGE, 3-track 7" single (2025).
