Labyrinths by Daedelus
Alfred Darlington, better known as Daedelus, is an influential Los Angeles producer and cornerstone of the electronic & beat music scenes both locally and internationally. Over the last 15 years, they have released a number of full-lengths, EPs and remixes on labels like Ninja Tune, Warp, Anticon, Brainfeeder, and Dome of Doom.
On October 28th, Daedelus will release their latest full-length, Labyrinths, on their own label, Magical Properties, marking the first time Daedelus has released an LP on their imprint.
The album features guest appearances from Seven Davis Jr, Vลx, Amir Yaghmai, Zeroh, longtime collaborator Busdriver, and ex-wife Laura Darlington. Guest musicians include Teebs, Goodnight Cody, and the Voidz drummer Alex Carapetis.
Twisting, complex, and rhizomatic - Daedelus unfurls a maze of genre on Labyrinths, juxtaposing disparate influences while maintaining an underlying love and appreciation for all styles. The record serves as a response and critique of the current state of EDM, in which Daedelus attempts to answer their own questions with style rather than cynicism.

Daedelus is an aspiration of music without limit. Their discography stretching back more than 20 years is fittingly erratic, and list of collaborators dizzying. Most recently releasing a travelogue of EPs, artist in residence at S.E.T.I., and founding faculty of Berklee's EDI performance program.
