Recorded during one of our strangest dream experiments, "Ceramic Somnography" unfolded after we wired a set of titanium bells to respond to our REM patterns. The track balances between fragility and permanence - those porcelain-inspired microtones crack and reform throughout the piece like memories reassembling themselves after waking.

We salvaged those weather report vocals from a stack of VHS tapes found in a motel that was shutting down. Something about those monotone forecasts from decades past felt oddly comforting, like phantom broadcasts reaching across time. When layered beneath the crystalline bell structures, they create this peculiar sense of familiarity you can't quite place.

Sara's cat wouldn't leave the studio during these sessions, so we actually mic'd his purring and processed it into the subharmonic foundation. There's something universally soothing about those vibrations that helps anchor listeners during the more ethereal passages.

The track should feel like waking up in an abandoned laboratory where all the equipment has somehow become musical - simultaneously clinical and deeply intimate. Those Nintendo cartridge interferences weren't planned; we discovered them when Julian's old console started creating beautiful distortions through our mixing board. Some accidents become essential.
