Strollin’ (3:41) - Chet Atkins inspired. A lazy summer day, windy and warm.
I haven’t listened to much Chet Atkins, and yet feel affected in a positive way by his music. This tune just brings him to mind. Melodic and pretty easy going, probably because I wrote it on an Island in the Milwaukee river whilst a couple of ducks sauntered slowly by, inches from my feet.
Nashville based Colin O'Brien is a master of the acoustic guitar. His compositions harken to Leo Kottke, whilst his dancing feet groove in the wake of the late John Hartford, who O'Brien also sites as a primary songwriting inspiration.
