La première apparition discographique de Marc Wittmann et Thierry Van Roy (1982), sous le nom de Karman, est le single “Poker” (synth pop minimal), produit par LWM.
Cleanic Pattaya est un groupe de pop-rock fondé en 1984, par Marc Wittmann (chant, guitares) et Thierry Van Roy (claviers), rejoints par Nathalie Willame au chant et Benoît Lepage à la batterie. Le groupe se fait d’abord connaître par un 45 tours, “L’hôpital” (Wea-Filipacchi France), et ensuite par un deuxième “Contents ! Contents !”. Dans la foulée, le groupe travaille sur un album dont la réalisation prendra plusieurs années. Cet album en dormance pendant plus de trente ans sort enfin en 2020, après un remastering général, un remix de “L’hôpital”, et l'ajout quelques guitares additionnelles.
