Vigil by Christmass

“Vigil” is a four-part dirge of hypothermic doom. A grim cantata of cold slumber, it loosely chronicles the fate of a man lost in hyperborean lands who finds refuge in an abandoned Arctic monastery before succumbing to frostbite and slowly drifting off to foreversleep.

Released on an extremely limited count of hand numbered cassettes, Young Tobacco Records is proud to carry Christmass’ first work in over 4000 years.

Down through the Pleistocene glaciers before the emergence of sentient man, echoing through the millenia into the alpine forests where indigenous pre-Christian Germanic and Baltic tribes celebrated its coming through nocturnal fires, monsters and the Great Hunts of Wuodan, Christmass is everywhere and nowhere, ever-walking a funereal march in the bleak snowblindness of eternal midwinter.
