Lochaber Badger from Decade by Cedar Dobson Music

Lochaber Badger - I accompanied Akira Hoagland on Bodhrán while he played this tune at the Yosemite High School 'Night on the Town' Event in March 2020, just before lockdown. This became a favorite tune of mine for nearly all of 2020 and I kept re-exploring it, eventually adding a jazz-like solo section for this arrangement. It’s so groovy! Improvised soloing is rare in trad - and I love soloing! - so what better opportunity than to solo on this track? I solo on three different whistles on this track for more range and 'flavors'.

Cedar Dobson is a California-born, Dublin-based composer, musician, multi-instrumentalist, and performer.
Specialising in traditional Irish music, Cedar has performed in festivals all across Ireland with her band Tradify. Cedar plays and composes other genres such as jazz, rock, folk, funk, world, classical, and orchestral music
