Catherine Savage writes to understand and be understood. Drawing from reality and fiction alike, Savage’s new EP “Back Problems” brings her evocative lyricism to the forefront of a sound that's somewhere between indie rock, alt-country, and jazz-inflected folk. In four songs that take the listener from the rocky Cascades to Dolly Parton’s childhood home, Savage explores her capacity to love, to shape-shift beneath another’s gaze, and to find herself again in the act of gazing back.
