‘Wander’ is the second single offering from a forthcoming EP by Manchester-based beat-maker Catch92.
The lead track from a forthcoming EP of the same name is brooding and dreamy, oozing late night vibes with atmospheric sampling providing a moody backdrop for an emotive saxophone lead. The track has already caught some heat prior to release after being premiered in label boss Asta Hiroki's 'Introspective Block Party guest mix' for Huey Morgan on BBC 6Music.
Both the track and new EP draw influence from a Lewis Carroll literary classic, with Catch92 adding experimental psychedelic influences and forays into ambient and electronica to his signature style of head-nodding lo fi hip hop.
The producer’s work has attracted some serious supporters as he’s steadily built up an enviable number of BBC Introducing spins, hit multiple Spotify editorial playlists including the huge 'Lofi Beats’ and ‘Jazz Vibes’ and produced for respected labels including Vinyl DIgital and Aviary Bridge.
The single serves as another wonderful taster of things to come as he goes deeper into uncharted sonic waters with this project, for those salivating at the prospect of more material from him the full five track EP will be available in March via Folded Music.
In his own words Catch92 shines a light on how the inspiration for the EP came about:
"I bought 'Alice's Adventures In Wonderland' soundtrack on vinyl from SK1 Records for my girlfriend as it is one of her favourite movies, at the time the owner (Synkro) said it’s full of great samples and it took me far too long to check it out, but thanks for the tip off!
Catch92’s musical journey is one of evolution, experimentation, and creativity. His sound has constantly shifted and expanded. Now, at the height of his artistic exploration, Catch92 seamlessly bends and blends genres, proving that the only limits are those of imagination.
