Avicennia by Carl Dewhurst

Carl Dewhurst has spent years honing his craft as a creative musician and is widely regarded as one of Australia’s leading jazz and improvising guitarists. Dewhurst’s latest album, Avicennia, features bassist and composer Cameron Undy alongside drummer Alex Inman-Hislop with special guest saxophonist Lisa Parrott. Inspired by wanderings through the streets, open spaces, and swampy tidal waterways of Sydney’s inner west, the album blends elements of jazz, roots, improvisation, and contemporary polyrhythm
