I guess this game is done
Surrounded by her disciples
Who thought they’d played and won
But the die was cast when she came to me
And played me like her words:
“Show me a good man who’s known evil
And I’ll share with you the secrets of this world”

I lived a still life that belied
The void inside that yawned
My shorn, thin and lustful soul
Suspired for blood and storms
She was summoned by my longing
Cloaked in future shores
She says that this is the game now
And cracks open the door

So many lies are swept by the wayside
Follow in wounded crawl
So many lives condemned to the riptide
Spirits surround and call
Given the choice of death and eternal life
We feared the end
Seventy fathoms wide spreads the smile
Into depths beyond transcend

And when she’s dancing on our graves
Drunk upon the world she’s made
We’ll know this game was rigged to lose
But it’s the only life we’d choose

Creatures with craving eyes writhe before her
Worship her widowed arts

Infernal soul collage

They too longed not to be forgotten
