Wild Postures by Brother Dragon

This is a true story…unnatural and real.

During a long season of multiple deaths (suicides - murders) and mass relational fracturing I looked for wisdom/understanding thru spirit - reaching towards anything that can help. I continued to search desperately but was met only with more futility and silence…the process left me empty/apathetic, confused, defeated, and splayed wide open - nerve endings buzz in the elements while birds of prey circled in and out of obscurity / eclipsed by the all-consuming sun.

This is the context for Brother Dragon - confusion and helplessness in the face of ongoing futility - the constant. With it came despair/self pity in its deepest sense. But while prostrate and exorcised...creation happened - from nothing/ex nihillo there was something - beings of light, angels, voices from God/creatures/elements/objects……all absolutely wild but connected - holy grounds - untamable and sovereign. There are no steps/systems to them….speaking in their given time to whoever can hear…

Wild Postures is the continued expression of these inner worlds through the Brother Dragon mythology. Simply a result of aimless wanderings - explorations - outpourings - - creative documents of occurrences in the form of pop inspired experimental music and song - - assembled and named later on as meaning announced itself…a sort of monument to an individual life being lived - - raw - desperate - honest - flailing - expansive - magical - meditative - shy - miraculous - brutal - delicate - beautiful…shrouded in absolute mystery - - a place where unknown things first pop their heads out - draw me in - always speaking - testifying…where dragons sleep.

As an artist I continue to feel compelled to share these worlds - these ideas and feelings - these stories - what has come to me and held my hand in a time of dire need - to try and create sounds and words to give voice to these realities…to whatever end I don’t know…

I’m very grateful for the opportunity to make art and for those of you who really listen - who consider art (in a way) sacred and necessary for survival - not just entertainment. Thank you, truly!
