elegies by Bradley McKellip
If 2021's "junes" was a reflection on the gentle joys of domesticity, family, nostalgia, and Kansas in the summer, "elegies" serves as a reminder of the impermanence of even the best of seasons. The simple facts that families endure illness, friends succumb to it, and no dog or restaurant lives forever are punctuated by open-tuned guitars, gauzy synth pads, and digital artifacts.
