if we could only locate the pleasure
if love would only hold us together

the train nearly stops at the corner
unfortunately we live with a moving center

that man used to be your lover
now he’s another dead animal

those former anarchist leaders
all work in that advertising tower

you always seem like you’re busy
I wonder if it’s really the story
no place to stop it makes us dizzy
we tell ourselves it must be working

it’s only conjecture
what these instruments measure

the centrifuge has seductive levers
hold on to me at the moving center

you can take me apart
but you gotta hold onto my heart

don’t think those other pieces matter
we can pick them up later

but if you still feel the buzz
thorax like a jackhammer
like this spinning beast we’re on
we all gotta deal with a moving center
